Remember when you were a kid and tried things just because they looked fun? You didn’t wonder whether you had a talent for it, whether it was a productive use of your time or whether you could somehow turn it into a side hustle. You just gave it a go.
We think grown-ups could use a little more of that.
That’s why we created Make Something Lovely
We want to make it easy to find something new you’d love to try – and actually give it a go.
Make Something Lovely brings together online courses in all kinds of hobbies, taught by people who know and love what they do. You can learn from home, take things at your own pace and start from the very beginning. No experience required.
Maybe you’ll discover a hobby you’ll happily spend every Sunday afternoon doing for the next ten years. Maybe you’ll simply enjoy learning something new and seeing what you can do. There’s no right way to have a hobby.
A few things we believe about hobbies
You’re never too old to be a beginner
There will always be things you haven’t tried yet. Being a beginner simply means you’ve found one of them.
You don’t have to be good at your hobby
Get better if you want to. Stay happily average if you don’t. Enjoying yourself is reason enough to keep going.
Not everything needs to be productive
Your hobby doesn’t need to become a side hustle or another thing on your to-do list. It can be just for you.
There’s always something new to discover
One hobby can lead to another, and you never quite know what might catch your interest next. That’s half the fun.
Online courses made for curious beginners
You shouldn’t need years of experience to enjoy learning something new. Our courses are designed to help beginners get started, with clear guidance you can follow from home and at your own pace.
Each course is created and taught by someone who knows their subject inside out – whether that’s painting, knitting, calligraphy, pottery or something completely different. So whatever you decide to try, you’ll be learning from someone who can show you how.
